Mehak’s scientific path spans translational cancer biology at NIT (National Institute of Technology), and mRNA vaccine development at CCMB (Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology) in India- experiences that shaped her interest in immunology‑driven mechanisms of disease in Pyaram lab. Outside the lab, she enjoys reading, exploring cafes, and, when the Kansas City sky cooperates, stargazing.
Alfred Effah
Graduate student
Alfred obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, after which he worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant there for three years. His expertise spans immunology and cancer biology, with experience in immune profiling and clinical research. In Pyaram lab, he focuses on diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), investigating NRF2 signaling and its potential role in improving CAR T-cell therapy. Outside the lab, Alfred enjoys soccer and music.
